Diamond Microwave Devices is engaged in the development of novel semiconductor devices based on CVD diamond. Its first major goal is to create a practical MESFET (metal semiconductor field effect transistor) using CVD diamond grown by Element Six Ltd. If successful, these transistors could revolutionise the design of future generations of microwave power modules.
The company has identified several promising concepts for practical electronic devices and is working with a number of experts on these concepts and fabrication techniques to exploit this novel technology.
